Former HRB Presenter Given Freedom Of The City Of London

Dean Martin.JPGFormer Hospital Radio Barnet presenter, Dean Martin who lives in Totteridge and presents Gold Control across the UK (Mon-Thurs 8-10pm + Sun 3-6pm) Weekend Warm Up (Fri 8pm- midnight) and Party Classics (Sat 6pm-midnight) today (Tuesday 17th March) was presented the Freedom of the City of London at the Guildhall London.

HBA National Hospital Radio Awards 2009

FrankPromoHC.jpgHopital Radio Barnet Station Manager Frank Heinley proudly displays the Highly Commended certificate awarded to him at the recent HBA National Hospital Radio Awards held at the Blackpool Hilton.

Frank entered a promotional trailer for his Country & Western show 'Countrified' in the Station & Show promotion category, the Judges placing it amongst the top 5 entries in the country.

30 Years of Broadcasting

30years.jpgJune Snowden, the president of the Hospital Broadcasting Association is seen presenting Hospital Radio Barnet with a certificate commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the stations opening in November 1978.

The presentation took place at our recent 30th Anniversary Quiz night held at Barnet Hospital which raised nearly £400 which will go towards the re-equipping and general running costs of the Radio Station.

HRB Shortlisted For Award

ribbon.pngHospital Radio Barnet has been shortlisted for an award in the 2009 Hospital Broddcasting Association's National Hospital Radio Awards. In the Station Promotion category we are one of the ten stations on the short list for the award.

Balloon Race Results

balloons.pngThe winning balloon went over 90 miles, landing in Cawston, 12 miles north west of Norwich, and the winner lives in Cheshunt. Our thanks to all who bought balloons and took part, this event raised nearly £350 for the station.

30th Anniversary Balloon Race

balloons2.pngAs part of our 30th birthday celebrations, we are holding a balloon race this Saturday, 6th September, from the Spires Shopping Centre in Barnet, at the Bandstand, attended by the deputy Mayor and Mayoress to launch the race, with a prize of £50 to the balloon that goes the furthest. There is also a prize for the person who returns the ticket of the winning balloon.

Come along and have a go. You may win £50.

Long Service Awards

At the recent 29th AGM of Hospital Radio Barnet  6 members of the station were awarded with long services certificates from the Hospital Broadcasting Association.

The picture shows members Karen, Martin and Bob recieved certificates for 25 years service at HRB, Jonathan  20 yrs, Andrew 15yrs and Richard 10yrs.

Sherlock Holmes comes to HRB

Hospital Radio Barnet is pleased to announce that Sherlock Holmes is a regular visitor to the station.

Thanks to One Act Productions, the adventures of Sherlock Holmes can now be heard on Hospital Radio Barnet. These radio adaptations of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle mysteries are produced by The One Act Players , and they have kindly given HRB permission to broadcast them. Patients in Barnet Hospital can now enjoy a Sherlock Holmes mystery on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. 

HRB Goes 24 Hour
